Cantonment Board is a body corporate created under a central statute called Cantonment Act 1924 now amended as Cantt.Act 2006,
working under the administrative control of the ministry of defence and entrusted with the municipal and developmental functions in respect of a cantonment.
The Board is constituted under section 13 of the cantonment act through procedure prescribed therein.
The Ranikhet Cantonment has come into existence in the year 1869.With the passage of time, the Cantonment has experienced considerable progress and development and as on today, it is a Class I Cantonment. The Cantonment Board Ranikhet has been catering to the civic amenities for the civil population residing within the Cantonment, which include Sanitation, water supply, Roads & Paths, drains,parks,street lighting, schools, Dispensary & libraries etc. In the recent past, the Cantt. Board has created several public utility projects, such as Aashiyana public parks,Veena park,Major Sati Parks, community Hall, Himshila, the Cantt Board Guest House, etc.
Apart from the above, large scale beautification works, improvement of parks and gardens have been carried out. The Cantonment Board Ranikhet has been maintaining High Standard of services and also keeping the assets in a good condition with utmost tenacity. With the promulgation of RTI Act, 2005 and the thrust for e-governance, the Cantonment Board has initiated action for launching of Cantonment Board Web site, for a better interface between the Cantonment Board and the public. Therefore, it is indeed an honour for me to announce the launching of Cantonment Board Ranikhet web site and I hope this step will augur a new phase of governance in the history of Ranikhet Cantt. by bringing the public and the Cantonment Board much closer by way of increased efficiency, transparency and responsiveness.
With the promulgation of Right to Information Act, 2005, the Cantonment Board, Ranikhet has availed the opportunity for wider dissemination of easy access to information for the public by launching the Cantonment Board Web site. It is expected that the newly launched Web site would further increase the interface between the Cantonment Board and the public. The transparency which is the inherent feature of the Web site will instill more faith in the administration. The Ranikhet Cantonment Board is the recent past took a giant leap forward in terms of creation of multi utility assets, beautification, maintenance of parks and gardens etc. It is indeed a great pleasure for all of us when people visiting the Cantt. appreciate the efforts of the Ranikhet Cantonment Board regarding the proper upkeep and beautification of the Cantonment. Yet there is a lot to be done as progress and development are continuous processes.
It will be our endeavor to provide easy access to maximum information for the general public to bring better interface between the public and the Cantt. Board and making the functioning of Cantt. Board more transparent and accountable Therefore we invite suggestion and feed back from the public on website so as to make it more informative and user friendly so that the very purpose of launching the website can’t be achieved to the maximum extent. The good governance is possible only with the active participation of the co-operation from the public. We believe that this web site will work as a medium for the same.
Ranikhet is a Class-I Cantonment Board. The Board consists of 14 members including 7 elected members. However since 03.03.03 the constitution of the Board has been varied by the Govt. of India and present Board is constituted under Section 14 (2) by the Govt. of India.

In pursuance of Rule 3 and 5 of Cantonment Electoral Rules, 2007, the Central Government hereby notifies the final plan of division into wards and wards reserved for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes specifying the total number of wards indicated in column (3) of the table given below, dividing the cantonment indicated in column (2) thereof, and the boundaries specified in Column (5) of the said Table, in respect of the ward numbers indicated in column (4) thereof, and the wards reserved for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes specified in column (6) of the said table :-
WARD NO. 1
The boundary of this ward begins from north flowing nalah situated on the western side of Munsif Court and moves along the nalah upto a puliya located near Abkari Water Spring. There it turns to east and follows bridle path and Abkari Road till it reaches the tri-juncture of Sitapur Eye Hospital. It continues moving to the east and follows Shiv Mandir Marg and reaches upto the puliya on the western side of Qayum building. Then it turns north and moves upto the bridle path situated to the north of Lal Bahadur Shastri Park. Moving east, along the bridle path, it reaches upto the nalah situated to the south of the puliya of Tiwari Garden. Therefrom moving along the nalah reaches upto the Bhatt Bhawan on the Shiv Mandir Marg and again moving in the same direction along with the nalah it reaches upto the shop of Shri Devi Lal in the Sadar Bazar. There it turns to west and moves along the Sadar Bazar Road and reaches the building of Shri Jwala Prasad Pandey and there it turns south-west and follows bridle path (north of Police Chowki) till it reaches the tri-juncture of Ranikhet-Chaubattia Road near Nanital Bank. Here it takes south-west direction and follows Chaubattia-Ranikhet Road and then the southern side road of SDM court till it reaches the starting point i.e. the western side nalah of Munsif Court.
WARD NO. 2
The boundary starts from House No. 405 of Zaruri Bazar and runs east along Bazar Road upto the eastern side nalah of Ranikhet Inter College. Therefrom the boundary turns to the northern direction along the nalah and moves upto CBP. No. 24. There it turns to south-east through CBP.No. 25 and reaches to CBP.26. Then it maintains its direction upto CBP.No. 26-A. Herefrom it takes eastern direction and moves along the cantonment boundary up to CBP.No. 28. Then it turns to the north-west direction up to CBP. No. 32. Now the boundary turns to the north-east direction up to CBP.No.33. Therefrom it turns to south-east and moves to CBP.No. 50 along the cantt. boundary through CBP. No. 34 - 49. From CBP. No. 50 the boundary runs up to CBP.No. 58 through CBP.No.51 to 57. There the boundary turns to the south-west direction and joins P.W.D. Road near Som Nath Ground and turns to south and moves along the M.E.S. road till its junction with Nehru Road. Then it runs along the Nehru Road to the south-west direction up to Spring Field Bungalow where it turns to the northern direction and follows the bridle path up to Barrack No. 7. Therefrom it moves ahead to meet MES road to the east of Rajeev Gandhi Park. Here it turns to east and reaches the western gate of Aashiyana Park. Now the direction changes to north and it moves along nalah upto the P.W.D. road near Sadar Bazaar Post Office. Now it moves along the road to reach the eastern nalah of Khari Bazaar near Shri Devi Lal’s shop. Then it follows nalah and moves north ward to reach the house No. 405 of Zaruri Bazaar i.e. the starting point. UPAT AREA The Boundary starts from Upat CBP.No. 1 and runs to the east along the cantt. boundary up to CBP.No. 9 through Upat CBP.No. 2 to 8, then it turns towards south-west along the cantt. boundary up to CBP.No. 13, through Upat CBP.No. 10 to 12. Then it turns towards north-west direction and moves along the cantt. boundary line up to Upat CBP.No. 1 through Upat CBP.No. 14 to 18 i.e. the starting point.
WARD NO. 3
The boundary starts from CBP.No. 12 and moves upto CBP.No. 19 through 15,16,17 & 18. There it turns to south and moves along the nalah upto the western side nalah of Slaughter House. Moving in the same direction and following same nalah it reaches upto a puliya located between Qayum building & Agrawal building on Shiv Mandir Marg and on its way it passes through Shastri Park. There it turns west and moves along Shiv Mandir Marg upto its junction with Abkari Marg near Sitapur Eye Hospital. Here it changes its direction to north-west and moves along Abkari Road till it reaches Pandey Bhawan. Again turning west and moving along bridle path it reaches the puliya near the water spring below Cantt. High School. Now it turns south to reach mazar below KMOU Station through nalah. Moving to north-west and following MES road it reaches upto western side nalah of ASC butchery. Now it follows the nalah and moving to the north it reaches upto the CBP.No.12 i.e. the starting point.
WARD NO. 4
The boundary starts from CBP.No. 19 and moving eastward it touches CBP.No. 22-24. Here it turns south from CBP.No. 24 and reaches upto the eastern side nalah of the Ranikhet Inter College. Here it turns west and moves along the Shiv Mandir Marg to reach the cantt. shop No. 66. Now it turns north and moving along nalah reaches upto thepuliya near the building of Shri Jwala Datt Pandey. Here it changes direction to west and follows the bridle path upto the western side nalah of Lal Bhadur Shastri Park. There from it turns to north and moving along nalah it reaches CBP. No. 19 i.e. starting point.
WARD NO. 5
The boundary starts from CBP.No.63 and moves along the cantt. boundary towards south east direction and reaches upto CBP.No.72 through CBP.No. 64 to 71. At CBP.No.72 it changes direction and moves towards south-west along the boundary till CBP.No.78. Here it turns west and moving along the boundary it reaches upto CBP.No.81. Now turning south along the boundary it reaches upto CBP.No.84. Here the direction again changes to west upto CBP.No.86 and north west upto CBP.No.91. Now moving to south and then west it touches CBP.No.92 and CBP.No.93. Here from the direction remains more or less towards north-west till it reaches the CBP.No.98 by moving along the boundary. There the direction changes to north-west and it reaches GPO cross-road via Ranikhet-Khairna motor road. It turns to south-east direction and moves along Ranikhet Chaubattia Road till it reaches the cross road of Police Station (Mall Road). Here the direction changes to north-east and it follows Govind Road and moves ahead to reach Nehru Road junction near Himalayana Bungalow. Turning to south-west and moving along Nehru Road it reaches Ardee Road junction. Therefrom it follows Ardee Road upto Ardee Bungalow and then the bridle path till the Kalugadhera Dam. Now it turns south and follows the main nalah of Jhula Devi to reach Ranikhet-Chaubattia Road near the Jhula Devi temple. Herefrom it follows the Chaubattia main road upto CBP.No.63 near Udyan avom Khadya Prasanskaran Lab i.e. the starting point. NAGPANI The boundary starts from Nagpani C.B.P. No. 1 and runs north-west along the cantonment boundary line up to the Nagpani C.B.P. No. 7 through Nagpani C.B.P. No.2 to 6. Then it turns towards south-west and runs along the boundary line up to Nagpani C.B.P. No. 14 through Nagpani CBP Nos. 8 to 13. Here it turns towards east & north-east and moves along the cantonment boundary line up to Nagpani C.B.P. No. 1 i.e. starting point through Nagpani C.B.P. Nos. 15 to 20.
WARD NO. 6
The boundary starts from CBP.No.12 and moves to south-west along a nalah to reach P.W.D. road near western side nalah of ASC butchery. Therefrom it turns to south-east and follows MES road to reach the mazaar below KMOU station. There it turns to south along a nalah to reach the western side nalah of Munsif Court. Therefrom it follows south and south easterly direction and moves along Ranikhet-Chaubattia MES road to reach G.P.O. now it turns to south-east and moving towards the Ashok Dwar, follows Ranikhet-Khairna Road till CBP.No.98, there it turns to north-west and passes through CBP.No. 99 to 110 to reach CBP.No. 111. There its direction changes to north and it touches CBP.No. 1 to 5. Here again it turns to south-east and reaches CBP.No.7 by following the boundary. Now it turns to north east to reach CBP.No.8 then to south & south-west to reach CBP.No. No.9 and therefrom to north-east to CBP.No. 10. By following the boundary it passes through CBP.No. No. 11 to reach the starting point i.e. CBP.No. 12.
WARD NO. 7
The boundary starts from the western side nalah of the Munsif Court and moves to east along MES road to reach the tri-juncture of Himalaya Road, situated to the east of old Telephone Exchange. Here it turns to south-east and moves along bridle path to meet the Sadar Bazar road near the building of Shri Jwala Prasad Pandey. Here it turns to east and follows Ranikhet-Almora road to meet the eastern side nalah of Sadar Bazaar Post Office. Therefrom it turns to south and moves along nalah to reach the western gate of Aashiyana Park. Here the direction changes to west till it reaches the Rajeev Gandhi Park by moving along the MES road. Here it turns to south to follow the bridle path and reaches the D.A.D. colony. Now it turns to east and moves along the Nehru Road upto the MES road junction near Diwan Singh Hall. There it turns to east to reach Hydel Power House by moving along MES road. There it turns to north-east to reach the tri-juncture of Somnath Ground by following the same road. Now it turns to south-east till it reaches CBP. No. 58. Again the direction changes to east till CBP. No.59. There it turns to south-west to reach CBP. No.63. It again changes direction to the south-west and follows the Ranikhet-Chaubattia Motor Marg till Jhula Devi Temple. Therefrom it moves along the north-ward flowing nalah till Kalugadhera Dam. At the dam site it turns to west and follows the bridle path to meet Ardee Road, near Ardee Bungalow. It maintains its direction to reach the Nehru Road junction. Here it turns to east and moves ahead till the junction of Nehru Road and Govind Road. Here the direction changes to south-west and boundary moves along the Govind Road till the Police Station junction at Mall Road. Herefrom it moves to west and follows Ranikhet-Chaubattia MES road to reach the western side nalah of Munsif Court i.e. the starting point.
